Overview
Simien Mountains is a registered National Park by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. There are over 20 peaks towering 4000m as a result of this Ethiopia is known as the “Roof of Africa”. Our trek includes climbing Ras Dashen the highest peak in Ethiopia at 4260m. We combine this exceptional trek with a journey across a land dotted with medieval castles at Gonder. After visiting the the medieval castles at Gondar, we head into the Simien Mountains for a spectacular trek. The Simien Mountains have been called Africa’s “Green Grand Canyon”. The Simien Mountains of Ethiopia offer superb wilderness trekking with stunning scenery, dramatic cliffs and escarpments and the chance to spot endemic wildlife such as a troop of Gelada Baboon, Walia Ibex and Simien fox and Ethiopia’s many endemic birds and plant life unique to the mountains and the immense beauty of the mountains.

Day 1: Arrive at Addis Ababa Bole International airport. Overnight Hotel
Day 2: Today you will visit sightseeing of Addis Ababa. Overnight Hotel
Day 3: After early breakfast; fly north towards Gonder. Overnight Hotel
Day 4: After breakfast head to the Simien mountain. Overnight Camping
Day 5: Begin trekking from Sankaber towards Geech. Overnight Camping
Day 6: Hiking to mount Imetgogo, Saha and Kedadit. Overnight Camping
Day 7: After breakfast continue trekking to Chennek. Overnight Camping
Day 8: Trekking to Ambiquo; passing mount Bwahit. Overnight Camping
Day 9: Ascent mount Ras Dashen high up to 4620m. Overnight Camping
Day 10: Trek back to Chennek passing gentle massif. Overnight Camping
Day 11: After breakfast in campsite drive back to Gondar. Overnight Hotel
Day 12: Flight back to Addis Ababa; then in the evening departure to home.
